The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) announced its Top ten 2020 Canadian movies with Nadia, Butterfly, Beans, and The Nest as part of the selection.

The list contains Funny boy, Canada’s foreign feature movie submission by Deepa Mehta. It is put together by the TIFF programming team’s artistic director and the TIFF co-director Cameroon Bailey, Senior film director Diana Sanchez, and the TIFF programmer Steve Gravestock.

Eligibility: Screening at a Canadian or foreign movie festival.

  • Nadia, Butterfly by Pascal Plante (Quebec)
  • The Nest by Sean Durkin (Ontario)
  • No Ordinary Man by Chase Joynt and Aisling Chin-Yee (Quebec)
  • Possessor by Brandon Cronenberg (Ontario)

These features have gotten both Canadian and Foreign recognition and lots of awards from the Inside Out LGBT Film Festival, The Toronto International Film Festival, the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, and several other places.

2020 was a great year for Canada’s movie industry, and we can only hope that 2021 will be much better!
